What Makes Speech Wings Therapy Different?
At Speech Wings Therapy, we have a distinct philosophy that helps us to uniquely impact the children and families we serve. Our clinical director, Courtney Willis, founded Speech Wings Therapy, LLC in 2015 with a mission of providing excellent pediatric speech therapy services in a child-directed, naturalistic environment. We strive to always find a child’s strengths and what they can do, instead of only focusing on what a child can’t do. Your child is more than a number on a test. They are more than a sum of deficits. We choose to highlight all the things that make your child special, to see the best in them. We want to provide speech and language therapy in such a way that empowers our families by helping them know there is someone out there who never gives up on them. We don’t cherish your child in spite of their differences, we love them for their differences.
In our clinic, kids are allowed to be kids. Our clinicians are trained in play-based therapy techniques, never focusing solely on compliance. We believe we must change our actions and thoughts to accommodate the needs of the child, instead of demanding that the child change for us. In each therapy session, we play hard. We make messes and mistakes. We learn and we grow. And, we never demand that a child clean up when the session ends. We want kids to love coming to our clinic, and they do! This unique approach allows us to help children and families and to make progress in an extraordinary way.
We promise to always celebrate your child’s successes with you and support you however we can along this journey. At Speech Wings Therapy, we are a family and we will welcome you in with open arms.
